Terms of use
Last updated: 21 May 2026
These terms set out the rules for using LibDem.help. By using the site, you agree to them.
Who runs this
LibDem.help is an independent project run by Edward Scotcher. It isn't officially affiliated with the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish Liberal Democrats, or any other political party.
What the tools do
The tools on this site help with practical tasks like checking leaflets, building imprints, rehearsing for hustings and interviews, and planning routes. They're free to use.
What the tools aren't
The tools aren't legal advice. The leaflet checker and imprint generator are guides to help you spot common problems. They're not a substitute for proper legal compliance work.
The rehearsal tools (hustings and interview prep) generate AI-powered coaching. The AI can be wrong, biased, or misleading. Treat its feedback as one perspective among many, not as definitive guidance.
The stakeboard poster route planner prepares input for third-party mapping tools. We're not responsible for the accuracy of the maps or directions those tools produce.
Your responsibility
You're responsible for what you publish, say, and do. If you publish a leaflet that turns out not to be compliant, that's on you, even if our tool said it was fine. If you rehearse for an interview and the interview goes badly, that's on you. We're providing free tools, not professional advice.
Limitations
We try to keep the site running but we don't guarantee uptime. We try to keep the AI services working but they may be slow, fail, or produce unexpected results. We're not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use of the site.
Acceptable use
Don't use the site to do anything illegal. Don't upload other people's confidential information without their permission. Don't try to break the site, scrape the tools, or use them for purposes other than what they're for.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "last updated" date.
